ABOUT OUR
PROFESSIONAL FEES
Professional fees are based on the professional service
rendered and the time required. All fees are based on the
fee guidelines of the Australian Psychological Society for
Dr. Sandra E. S. Neil and the Australian Medical Association
for Dr. Robert L. N. Silverberg.
All new clients are asked to complete a health review form
and an information sheet for which there is no fee. Sometimes
new clients are requested to complete one or more psychological
tests which require between one and three hours each to
complete. Other psychological tests may be utilised as necessary.
Fees for all psychological tests are billed on the basis
of the time required, and complexity of interpretation for
the test administered.
Typically, Dr. Neil or Dr. Silverberg will spend one to
three sessions as part of an evaluation process, at the
end of which time a decision is made as to whether or not
the client(s) will be accepted into ongoing therapy. If
not, a referral will be made to another, more suitable,
professional and/or agency in the community, and upon the
request of the client(s), the case will be discussed with
the professional or agency to whom the client has been referred.
If therapy is commenced, individual arrangements will be
made by each of the doctors. Typically, sessions will be
of 40-50 minutes duration, but longer sessions will be appropriate
in some situations; these will always be arranged directly
by the doctor with the client.
It is customary to pay all professional fees at the time
of each visit. Medicare or private health cover may provide
you with a rebate for certain psychological, medical, or
psychotherapy services. Please consult Medicare, or your
private health cover for specifics. You will be given a
receipt for all fees paid, which you can then submit to
your private insurance cover or Medicare, as appropriate,
to receive any rebate to which you may be entitled. If an
account must be rendered, or if fees are not paid at the
conclusion of each visit, additional administrative charges
may apply.
